Landin Wilcock & Co is a large independent practice of Chartered Accountants, based in Sheffield. Accountant – Accounts Senior or Semi-Senior

The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated, well-organised individual, with good interpersonal skills, to join our Medical Accounts Team as either an Accounts Senior or possibly a Semi-Senior. The actual job role can be flexed to suit the level of training and experience of the successful candidate and could involve any of the following activities:

• Preparation of the annual accounts for medical partnerships
• Preparation of the annual accounts for sole traders, and limited companies for both medical and non-medical clients
• Assisting with the preparation of the annual certificate of pensionable profits for our GP clients
• Assisting with the estimates of pensionable profits for our medical practices
• Bookkeeping services and preparation of VAT returns
• Completion of personal tax returns and some basic corporation tax returns
• Completion of P11Ds

The job entails managing your own workload, engagement with clients, being a team-player and maintaining the quality of the Medical Accounts Team’s work. The role may involve visits to clients and sometimes working at their premises so it would be helpful to be a car driver.

Suitable candidates should have a minimum of four years relevant experience and be either:
• AAT qualified or part qualified
• studying towards ACA/ACCA
• qualified by experience with considerable time spent on all aspects of accounts production work

Knowledge of medical accounts would be ideal but not essential

Copy Typist

The Role
We currently have a full time permanent vacancy for a highly experienced and qualified Copy Typist. Candidates must have typing qualifications eg RSA/OCR, extensive experience in a typist role and be capable of producing a high volume of accurate typing with a minimum of 50+ wpm.

Key Duties
The typist position, sits within our Admin Dept and key duties are:
• producing high volumes of accurate copy typing (from manuscript or printed notes)
• use of Microsoft Office suite of software
• use of other software, including bespoke accountancy systems

Please note, this is a typist vacancy, with some general administrative duties involved which may include:
• Maintaining spreadsheets and databases
• Answering the telephone/occasional reception cover
• Photocopying, faxing, filing and franking mail

Requirements
Suitable candidates must have the following skills:
• A good standard of English grammar, spelling and punctuation
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to produce high volumes of work to a very high standard
• Efficient in the use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Excellent communicator
• Highly effective at managing own time and multi-tasking
• Manage positive working relationships with colleagues and clients
• At least two (2) years’ experience in this type of role

Discretion and professionalism are essential requirements for this position as it involves dealing with client information of a confidential and sensitive nature.
